Now that ColdFusion Builder 2 on in public beta I see more people asking about how do I use or get started with ColdFusion Builder?

The answer is easy and hard at the same time. ColdFusion Builder is built on the Eclipse Foundation. Here is a quick blurb from the Eclipse About page.

Eclipse is an open source community, whose projects are focused on building an open development platform comprised of extensible frameworks, tools and runtimes for building, deploying and managing software across the lifecycle.
If you are not familiar with Eclipse at all then one good place to start in this video from the Eclipse Foundation on use the Workbench. The Workbench is where you write your fabulous code.

Once you have the basics of the Eclipse Workbench figured out the next place to go for help is Adobe. When you run ColdFusion Builder 2 Beta it launches a start page. Here is a list of resources to getting started including excellent Getting Started video that covers creating and importing projects, connecting ColdFusion Builder to your ColdFusion Development server, virtual host settings and other useful settings.

Just below the video on the start page is a list of "Other Resources". The first link is to a video by Adobe Evangelist Terrence Ryan, he's a great guy that I have meet a few times in person, he is the best resource inside Adobe for ColdFusion and ColdFusion Builder products.

Next Click on the Advanced Link under Other Resources and you will see these Advanced Options including Moving From Dreamweaver to ColdFusion Builder 2.

After going through the resources from Eclipse and Adobe, the Adobe ColdFusion Community is also very active in supporting ColdFusion Builder. There are a lot of blog posts that cover a wide variety of topics from basic to advanced tips. The ColdFusion Jedi, Ray Camden, has a large number of ColdFusion Builder posts as well as many others. A quick search for ColdFUsion Builder will yield great results.
